Introbiz Beaujolais Day 2017
Join us for Beaujolais Day!
It’s that favourite time of year again – Beaujolais Day!
We’ll be heading to the Madeira Restaurante in the centre of Cardiff for the annual celebration. From 12pm, on Thursday, 16th November, guests can enjoy a champagne reception, a delicious 2-course lunch and half a bottle of Beaujolais wine. This is also a great networking opportunity for local businesses.
You may be wondering what Beaujolais Day is all about. Beaujolais Nouveau has always been celebrated, but only locally in France. The wine is a celebration of the first of the season. The wine is a fresh and fruity fermentation process that ends with a tasty, clean wine. Obviously, due to the speed of production, the wine isn’t the best quality but is celebrated all the same.
In the 1970’s, a fantastic marketing strategy was introduced where it became a race to see who could get the first bottles to Paris – this attracted massive media attention and so the popularity of Beaujolais Day grew to the 4 corners of the world. Today, it’s a race to get the first bottles to different markets around the globe.
By the time Beaujolais is drawing to a close, it is thought that over 65 million bottles of wine, nearly half of the region’s total annual production, will be distributed and drunk around the globe. That’s a lot of red wine!
Spaces for this event are extremely limited, so make sure you book your place to attend. Tickets for members of the Introbiz network cost £29.95 + VAT each and visitor tickets cost £34.95 + VAT each.
